The Tradition of the Citizen-soldier was a cherished tradition of the old republic but sadly we've decayed so much people call this tradition fascist. The channel Pilgrims Pass talks about this tradition in some of his videos. Peace

Excellent essay. What's fascinating about this "debate," as if handing a gun out to anyone who crosses the border is somehow a good thing, is how even JFK understood the linkage between the right to bear arms and the citizenry.

"Today we need a nation of minute men; citizens who are not only prepared to take up arms, but citizens who regard the preservation of freedom as a basic purpose of their daily life"

Now that we have a nation in the abstract, our rights are becoming more abstract as well.

Why would constitutional rights apply to a non-citizen. Why the fuck even be a us citizen if it means you have to pay taxes, but the government just shits on you because illegals are our future?

IMO, most gun advocates don't actually believe in universal gun rights, or at least at the start that wasn't the case. As the Left continues to ratchet down on guns, gun advocates realized that "compromise" just meant continual loss. Thus you see the adoption of universals in the rhetoric. Gun rights are universal, because saying they aren't gives the left an opening to further disarm conservatives.

Its the same reason the right is universal in its pro life stance. The demented Left takes ANY concession, no matter how small, and twists and distorts it to no limit. So the right just stops giving concessions and starts dealing in universals.

Excellent piece. Reaching out to and indoctrinating the Boogaloo coalition should be a high priority. Not only are they misguided tactically, but they are infantile in terms of philosophy. They dont get to have their absolutist Libertarian 2A rights, and a nation, too.

Hope that’s not too confusing to explain but you’re dealing with a chimp.

We forget our origins in Old Germania where men were under arms. Great article and a fantastic way to link the two together. Weapons in the common context equal responsibility.
