A few weeks ago I wrote a piece on what the purpose of a political commentator is. That article ( which you can find here) lays out how a pundit can gather power and affect the actions of influential men. This is an important topic for me, as I am a pundit and want to be honest about what I’m doing and why. In the days since I finished that post, I’ve thought more about the topic and how dissidents are to act. The primary role of the dissident, especially the dissident pundit, writer, or podcaster, is to attack the moral unity of the regime.
Great article! I read this minutes after driving through valley forge on my way to something and was thinking along similar lines about the "Republic" mythos. Even just driving through you can feel that it's a stale/dead/replaced mythology...fitting that minutes away from the site is one of the biggest malls and strip malls in the country
I agree. All I would add is our job is to aim this at the reachable. Avoid the lost, the true believers. But share information and ideas with those who are skeptical or at least questioning. Alas I have found very few who are.

That final paragraph is very powerful. That is a simple enough and worthy purpose to rally around and act as guidance. It must be done.
